Socotra is located in the Arabian sea. Socotra is a fascinating, unique Island. It is home to 225 species of birds, 11 of which are endemic : the Socotra buzzard, the Socotra starling, the Socotra sparrow, the Socotra bunting, the Socotra warbler, the Socotra cisticola, the Socotra golden, the Socotra sunbird, the Socotra white eye, the Socotra scops owl and the Abd al-Kuri sparrow, which you can only see on Abd al-Kuri Island.
Two kinds of birds are subspecies: the long billed pipit and the southern grey shrike.
About 44 species of seabirds can be found in Socotra.
